Wherever a forester’s family came in and out, recreation seekers, friends of local game courts, weekend goers, Sunday outings, club groups and family festival guests have given themselves a “rendezvous” for more than thirty years: in the Hotel-Restaurant Forsthaus.

Founded in the early sixties by my parents, Alfons and Inge Schlich, and successfully run in the second generation by me, Christian Schlich, was built in 1902 and expanded several times. Our hotel is located in the charming Nettetal valley in the Luftkurhotel Riedener Mühlen, district Volkesfeld. We are a natural family, know the environment proverbially like our own Westbag and can, thanks to these circumstances, the advantages of our home on foot hiking, high on horseback with hiking and with two – wheelers, whether with no muscle power, so per Pedes or a motorcycle tour.

The cosiness of our house, the family atmosphere, friendly service and delicacies from the kitchen and cellar round off your day. In a dining room, which seats up to 60 people, you can indulge yourself with the kitchen of the house. Especially specialties from game from local forests (my father, Alfons Schlich, even Waidmann) and lively trout from own waters have contributed decisively to the reputation of the house.

We offer you the opportunity to find reasons to escape everyday life and to be our guest at various events all year round. You can enjoy special tastes of the suckling pigs and barbeque or experience a whiskey tasting with a culinary evening.

Regular guests are enthusiastic about the relaxing tranquility, the healthy air and the countless routes for mountain bikers, motorcyclists and hikers. The nearby Waldsee in Rieden offers a lot of variety for precious holidays. Try it by yourself!

Free garage places, washing area and screw-lifts with lifting platforms are just as self-evident as guided bike and mountain bike tours, map material and a return service to the hotel.
