We operate in a sustainable way. We recycle most of our waste, donate used coffee grinds for soil conditioner, give food waste to a local pig farmer, and use only our own solar generated power.
We offer something unique for Nelson, being the first completely solar café in the region. We are also an exclusive stockist of Atomic ethically sourced coffee and Kina Cliff wines.
Our contemporary style is reflected in our exciting modern menu, funky décor, quality artwork and exceptional table service.
We pride ourselves on being community minded in our business operation, donating any excess fresh baking daily to the Nelson Community Foodbank. We also support local events, schools and charities.
Morri Street Café is an iconic local destination. We rely heavily on independent producers from the Nelson region. Dovedale Bread, Oaklands Milk, Wangapeka Family Dairy, Fresh As Bakery, Willow Creek Farm, Kakariki Olives, Wakefield Butchery, Chia Drinks, Da’Maha and Guyton’s Fish are just a few of the excellent suppliers we couldn’t survive without!
We share a long and rich history with Nelson city. The building we occupy has been in the family for generations, and the café itself has been operating for nearly two decades with the same owner, Kay Field.
