ogether with the 83,190 Olympic athletes and staff from 159 countries, McDonald’s also came to Korea for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Since then, McDonald’s has been a preferred restaurant for dining out for Korean consumers, thanks to their world-famous Big Mac, French Fries, and Happy Meals.
McDonald’s opened its first restaurant in Apgujeong-dong, which was the trendiest spot in Korea. Hundreds of customers lined up in front of the restaurant to mark the successful launch of McDonald’s, and this showed that continuous growth could be achieved in the Korean market.
For the past twenty-five years, McDonald’s has worked closely with their Korean partners and contributed to creating jobs in Korea, currently employing more than 15,000 people. In addition, it has continuously supported domestic companies such as Ottogi and Maeil Dairy.
McDonald’s will continue to work hard to become a preferred destination for customers by offering good quality food and top service at reasonable prices.
